Welcome Pretty Guryls

The media has such a major influence on how we view ourselves and others. We live in a world where Americans spend thousands of dollars in efforts to achieve specific characteristics in order to be perceived as beautiful. Oftentimes, children are bullied because they possess unique characteristics or have prominent features.

In this book, Pretty Guryl represents the average child, who has experienced insecurities based on their God given physical attributes. As adults, we have a responsibility to teach our children to love themselves and others despite their differences. In order to end childhood bullying and increase self-esteem, we must first recognize that bullying is learned behavior that starts at home. This means that we must examine ourselves and our daily interactions at work, home, and even church.

This book was written for children between the ages of 4 to 12 and can be used by parents, educators, physicians and mental health professionals, despite the differences in race, creed or color. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our growth, by raising children who love themselves and love others.
